About the role

  • The Technology Planning and Cooperation Department promotes strategic innovation across all of Huawei Canada.
  • Working with fellow experts, the focus is researching new and upcoming areas of technology as well as strategic planning to help achieve long term vision of Huawei.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive collaboration plans aimed at solving world-class challenges.
  • Manage substantive academic collaborations (primarily competitions, grants, special issues, and workshops), integrate internal and external resources, ensure project execution and achievement of collaboration goals, thereby enhancing Huawei's influence and positive image in the academic community.
  • Manage internal and external networks of high-level academic experts, monitor dynamics within academic organizations, foster an open environment for innovation and academic exchange, and expand collaborative resources.

Nice to have

  • MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • Ability to identify collaboration opportunities behind academic trends and changes.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technology research, ecosystem/industry development in AI, computing, and software engineering field.
  • Understanding of academic organization operations, with relevant work experience in academia or multilateral organizations.
  • Willingness to continuously challenge oneself and enhance personal influence both within and outside the company.

Compensation

  • The total target annual compensation for this position ranges from $127,000 to $225,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.
