About the role

  • American University is a student-centered research institution located in Washington, DC, with highly-ranked schools and colleges, internationally-renowned faculty, and a reputation for creating meaningful change in the world.
  • The position also serves as the direct supervisor for compliance, business operations, student-athlete development, sports medicine, and strength and conditioning.
  • Advise and consult with coaching staffs and senior administrators of the athletic department, interpreting program needs and questions, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Leads several recurring meetings to include weekly executive and senior staff (in ADs absence), weekly game operations meetings, sport administrators, and monthly coaches meetings.
  • Supervision of business operations, compliance, student-athlete development, sports medicine, and strength and conditioning, as well as serve as the lead sport administrator for all team sport administrators
  • Assist with Board of Trustee Student Success Committee preparations and documents.
  • Lead coach and senior administrator hiring searches.

  • Master's degree or equivalent.
  • 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Travel Required:

  • Experience as an executive level administrator in an NCAA Athletics Department.

Compensation

  • $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually.
