About the role
- IT Support Technician will be responsible for direct end user technical support for the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) contract by providing comprehensive IT support for end users at customer sites throughout Virginia and the surrounding areas.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs products such as equipment, integrated systems, and software at the client and/or field locations.
- Instructs customers in equipment operation, provides technical assistance, performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots equipment for malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical / IT support for Commonwealth of Virginia
- Perform routine maintenance on customer's assets
- Perform break/fix software & hardware support (including OEM-certified warranty repair)
- Support tasks include end user device configurations
- May collaborate with vendors to provide technical insight
- Provide support for Windows 10/11 & MAC operating systems, software/application support, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, system restorations, etc.
- Provide after hours and weekend support as needed
Requirements

Skills
- High School plus advanced training and 2 plus years of experience
- Experience with performing system imaging and deployment of workstations, laptops, and related hardware
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic break/fix hardware troubleshooting and component replacement (RAM, HDD/SSD, batteries).
- Experience performing basic network troubleshooting
- Experience performing password resets using Active Directory
- Self-driven problem solver with strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to think outside the box.
- Communicates complex technical issues clearly and professionally to end users.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass VA State Police and Department of Corrections background checks
- A+ or Network+ certification
- Scripting Experience
- Experience with leading projects
Compensation
- The salary range for this position is $19-24/hr.
- This range reflects the anticipated base pay for the position and is not a guarantee of final compensation.
- Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, contract requirements, and business needs.
- Iron Bow Technologies reserves the right to fill this role at a different level, depending on qualifications and organizational priorities.
- This range represents only one component of Iron Bow's total compensation package.
