Responsibilities

  • Perform hand soldering of through-hole electronic components on printed circuit board assemblies using approved tools and techniques.
  • Maintain solder joints that meet applicable workmanship standards and company quality requirements.
  • Perform visual inspection of solder joints and assemblies to verify compliance with workmanship standards.
  • Identify common solder defects including insufficient solder, excessive solder, bridging, cold solder joints, and lifted leads.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with 5S and department standards.
  • Properly maintain and care for assigned tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Employees are required to wear appropriate ESD protection and personal protective equipment as specified by company policies.
  • Complete solder touch-up operations following wave soldering processes as required.
  • Accurately record completed operations and required production information.
  • Maintain traceability documentation and production records as required.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and ESD protection at all times.
  • Basic understanding of electronic components and printed circuit boards.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to perform repetitive detailed work while maintaining quality standards.
  • Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in an electronics manufacturing environment with exposure to soldering equipment, flux fumes, cleaning chemicals, and small electronic components. Employees are required to wear appropriate ESD protection and personal protective equipment as specified by company policies. Work may involve extended periods of sitting, repetitive hand movements, and the use of magnification devices for detailed inspection and soldering operations.

Nice to have

  • 0-2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or soldering preferred.
  • Experience working in an ESD-controlled environment preferred.
  • IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 certification preferred but not required (company-provided training available).
