About the role
- JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company.
- SUMMARY: The Ocean Export Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end coordination of international ocean export shipments.
- This role ensures all shipments are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company procedures and global trade regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage export documentation to ensure compliance with international regulations
- Manage and update carrier rates; obtain spot quotes as needed
- Process billing, verify payable charges, and support accurate invoicing
- Maintain organized customer and shipment records
- Enter and maintain shipment data within Cargowise (C1) system
- Collaborate with internal teams to support overall branch and operational goals
Requirements
- 3+ years 'experience handling ocean export shipments
- Strong knowledge of export documentation, processes, and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to coordinate shipments from origin through final delivery
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.

Nice to have
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred
- Experience within the freight forwarding industry strongly preferred
- Familiarity with CargoWise (C1) software is preferred
- Geographic knowledge and understanding of global trade lanes are a plus
- Additional language skills are a plus
