About the role

  • This role sits at the intersection of legacy system stewardship and forward-looking architecture.
  • The work involves careful modernization rather than wholesale replacement-extracting services, introducing new capabilities, and reducing technical debt while maintaining production stability.
  • We expect engineers to thoughtfully incorporate AI into their daily workflows while maintaining high standards for quality, security, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and support scalable microservices, APIs, and modern web applications.
  • Own features from design through production, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, QA, and Engineering to deliver customer value.
  • Experience building distributed systems, microservices, or cloud-native SaaS applications on AWS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, engineering ownership, and a passion for building reliable software.
  • You'll be encouraged to experiment with emerging AI capabilities, create reusable prompts and workflows, automate repetitive engineering tasks, and help shape how AI improves developer productivity across the organization.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with.NET Core/C#, Scala, Java, or similar backend technologies.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, REST APIs, and React or Angular.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation

  • The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Everbridge ranges from $132,900 - $154,000 and may also include variable compensation.
