Responsibilities
- Lead community strategy across Discord, Reddit, and social media channels, setting the tone and standards for the entire CM team.
- Act as the de facto lead CM, mentoring and guiding fellow Community Managers while remaining a hands-on contributor yourself.
- Develop and execute community programs, events, and initiatives that drive engagement, retention, and growth.
- Manage and moderate our Discord server and Reddit community, fostering a welcoming and active player environment.
- Support the social media team with community-driven content, amplification, and player spotlights.
- Build authentic relationships with players, community leaders, content creators, and influencers.
- Collaborate with marketing and creative teams on community-facing content that feels authentic to players.
- Create written content including patch notes summaries, community updates, FAQs, and forum posts.
- Collaborate closely with Korean counterparts to coordinate community initiatives, localize messaging, and bridge cultural gaps.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional Community Management experience, with a significant portion in live-service games.
- Proven ability to synthesize community feedback and communicate it meaningfully to development or product teams.
- Comfortable on-camera having experience with live streaming, video appearances, or public-facing community content.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone for both players and internal stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating with international or cross-cultural teams, preferably in a publisher/developer relationship.
- Some flexibility may be required to accommodate collaboration with our development team in Seoul, South Korea (KST timezone).
- Must be comfortable engaging players in front of an audience.
- Required
- Demonstrated experience owning and growing Discord servers and Reddit communities at scale.
- A genuine passion for FPS games, whether through professional experience or as an active player.
Nice to have
- Experience working with Korean or Eastern game developers or publishers.
- Background in MMOs, open-world games, or games with large, organized player communities.
- Familiarity with community analytics tools and sentiment tracking.
- You treat your community like a craft, you think strategically, but you also genuinely enjoy being in the trenches with players.
- You're enthusiastic on camera.
- Whether it's a 500-person stream or a quick team video, you're engaging, authentic, and represent the brand well.
- You can distill thousands of forum posts and Discord messages into a clear, prioritized summary a developer team can act on.
- You have thick skin and good judgment, you know when to engage, when to de-escalate, and when to escalate internally.
