About the role
- Maintaining compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA and ETCP guidelines.
- Assists to ensure our inventory is maintained, accounted for, and stored when not in use, along with any other lighting needs.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to team members to help improve their performance.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain Vectorworks/CAD based lighting plots for all live productions at Techwood Studios to ensure accurate setup of lighting equipment.
- Identify and Spec prepare the correct lighting equipment needed to create the optimal "show look" for each production.
- During the live/taped production of the show, actively monitor the show lighting plus instruct, manage, and supervise all lighting show staff to ensure a successful show.
- Proactively provides creative ideas/enhancements to improve the overall quality of show production and collaborates with team members to troubleshoot any existing lighting-related issues.
- Collaborates with Production Management and Technical Operations to identify and special order any equipment needed for studio productions.
- Keeping current with the advancements in lighting technologies, trends, and equipment necessary to enhance our Productions and maintain industry standard.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of current industry standards
- Extensive knowledge of lighting techniques and equipment, with the ability to use a range of fixtures tailored for broadcast production. (i.e., moving lights, LED fixtures, media servers and special effects lighting)
- In-depth knowledge of AC power systems including power distribution and load balancing
- Must have strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
- Must be able to handle the pressures of live programming and limited time constraints
Nice to have
- Knowledgeable of new technologies available or on the horizon
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30 or ETCP certification "preferred"
Skills
- Good computer skills, a logical approach and creative eye
