About the role
- Our Rideau Area Operations Team is seeking a Skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team in one of our compressor stations in Deux-Rivieres, or North Bay ON.
- The regular work schedule for this position will be:
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain gas-fired large-bore reciprocating engines, gas compressors, standby generator engines, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, low pressure boilers, oil coolers, air compressors, large-bank cooler fans and gear boxes, large diameter valves and operators, and other auxiliary equipment
- Operate compressor engines and support equipment
- Perform precision measurement and alignment functions
- Operate and maintain valves and operators
- Plan, coordinate, and perform mechanical maintenance activities, to include routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements, and major maintenance projects
- Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAP
Requirements
- Other certifications/designations as required
- The ideal candidate possesses knowledge and experience of high-pressure natural gas pipeline and gas systems, including gas turbine engine compressors and reciprocating engine compressors.
- This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
- Facility operations and maintenance to include valve maintenance, pigging, and other tasks as required
- Other tasks as required
Nice to have
- Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting large bore reciprocating engines, and turbines
- Knowledge of internal combustion engines, reciprocating and centrifugal gas compressors, turbines, and standby generators
- Computerized maintenance management system and SAP experience
- Proficiency in French is considered an asset
- This Position Requires Candidates To:
- Be subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposes.
- Be subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures, heavy lifting (50 pounds), and cramped conditions.
- Driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function of this position.
