About the role
- Evaluation, treatment and home programming are provided for children primarily with feeding and swallowing disorders, or new onset articulation, voice, resonance, fluency, and receptive/expressive language disorders.
- The SLP will provide speech language services for chronically ill patients admitted to hospital for lengthy stays.
- The SLP is also responsible for providing swallow function studies for both inpatients and outpatients in collaboration with the radiologist.
Requirements
- BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.
- 3.Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech/Language Pathology, or eligible for application upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year and must be obtained within 12 months of hire to maintain employment at Cook.
Nice to have
- 1.Master's degree in speech/language pathology, communication disorders, or related
- 2.At least 2 years of pediatric feeding/swallowing experience in an acute pediatric hospital is preferred.
