About the role
- DS Consultants Ltd. is currently seeking Intermediate or Senior Geotechnical Field Technician to join our team in the Cambridge office.
Requirements
- Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Technologist Diploma or Civil Engineering Degree
- Proficiency with common geotechnical and other software
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical concepts, materials and asphalt
- Must be mobile and willing to work on a combination of field and office work, as travel will be required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer usage
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs as required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong report writing skills and verbal communication in English are essential
- You demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate effectively and to proactively respond to time-sensitive issues
- Good understanding of geotechnical principles
- Strong workplace health and safety practices
- Ability able to carry out assignments with minimal supervision
Nice to have
- Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist (C.Tech/C.E.T.), Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.), Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or eligible for Engineer -in- Training (E.I.T.) status - preferred
- Three (3) plus years related experience in geotechnical engineering field inspections
