Responsibilities

  • The Low-Rise New Construction Estimator prepares estimates for new low-rise construction projects, working from drawings, specifications, and tender documents to build accurate, competitive pricing.
  • You'll consult directly with architects on components and design features, and work with clients to quote projects and guide product selection.
  • You'll also support the Project Manager with whatever a project needs to keep things moving.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents

Skills

  • 3 to 5 years of estimating experience in low-rise or residential new construction
  • Proficiency with estimating and take off software (such as Bluebeam or PlanSwift) along with MS Excel
  • Experience preparing price quotations and cost forecasts for active projects
  • You're detail-oriented and catch errors in drawings or take offs before they become costly problems
  • You communicate clearly with architects, clients, and project managers, and you follow through on what you say
  • You can juggle multiple estimates and deadlines at once without losing accuracy
  • Duties & Responsibilities
  • Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to prepare accurate estimates
  • Establish material take offs for the full scope of work on each project
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements and forecasts at regular intervals throughout each project
  • Conduct site visits as needed to verify scope, take measurements, and confirm conditions
  • Follow up on submitted tenders and track and record results

Compensation

  • $50,000 to $70,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
  • Salary: $50,000 to $70,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
