About the role
- HP IQ's Connectivity team is seeking a Software Engineer with deep expertise in device software development.
- You will work at the intersection of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and emerging device-to-device transport technologies, tackling complex challenges in performance, reliability, and low-latency communication.
- This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge innovations that are redefining how people and devices seamlessly connect across the modern enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Implement, optimize, and tune wireless networking protocols and sensing algorithms with a focus on enterprise-scale architectures and deployments.
- Collaborate closely with wireless chipset vendors, industry partners, and internal engineering teams to align designs, debug system-level issues, and optimize end-to-end connectivity performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of experience in device software development, including connectivity features, performance tuning, and debugging.
- 3+ years of experience developing software SDKs/frameworks on Android, Linux, or similar OS platforms.
- Familiarity with radio standards such as 802.11 and Bluetooth, and an understanding of related protocol stacks.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded systems programming for performance-critical wireless features.
Skills

- Strong understanding of peer-to-peer technologies and sensing techniques.
- Comfort working across diverse platforms including Linux, Windows, embedded systems, cloud-managed networks, and mobile OS stacks.
- Expertise in wireless performance analysis using tools such as Wireshark, logging frameworks, and low-level tracing.
Compensation
- $140,000 - $225,000
- Compensation & Benefits (Full-Time Employees)
- The salary range for this role is listed above. Final salary offered is based upon multiple factors including individual job-related qualifications, education, experience, knowledge and skills.
