About the role
- Software QA Engineer: The Test Engineer can work independently or as a team member in the full life cycle of a software development project.
- The Test Engineer is adept at controlling a test environment as well as providing an independent evaluation of software.
Responsibilities
- Continually developing professional expertise in all aspects of test engineering.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate software functionality against requirements and specifications.
- Perform functional, performance, security and regression testing of software products.
- Evaluate and provide input to requirement documents.
- Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements.
- Submit clearly written bug reports and reporting results when necessary to the Senior Software Quality Control Engineering Project Lead or Software Development Manager.
- Build productive internal/external working relationships.
Requirements
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- General proficiency in Microsoft Office desktop applications, especially Word and Excel.
- General proficiency in a Linux / Unix environment
Nice to have
- A 2- or 4-year college degree, preferably in a technical area, is a plus
- A working knowledge or experience with the JIRA Issue Management tool preferred.
