About the role

- Reporting to the Shift Engineer, the Plant Operator will be responsible for having a full working knowledge of safety procedures, plant equipment and plant operations in all areas.

Responsibilities
- Maintain Logbooks to ensure entries are legible, informative, and time stamped.
- Participate in safety meetings and continually strive to maintain a safe workplace.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of related industry experience with steam generation in the Oil and Gas industry (SAGD or CSS).
- SAGD operating experience, and strong understanding of it processes: Once Through Steam Generator's (OTSG's), Water treating, Oil treating process, De-oiling process
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, utilizing strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, and strong decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office programs.
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license (a driver's abstract is required).
- An understanding of evaporator systems and Cogen power generation.
- Team player with strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills.
- Self -motivated, open-minded and results oriented.
- Demonstrated investigative and data analysis ability.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of resolving problems independently.
- Other Details:
- Work shift work on a day/night shift rotation in a plant environment, including weekends, holidays and other shift coverage as required.
Nice to have
- Minimum of a Third-Class ABSA Power Engineering Certificate of Competency, Second Class preferred.
