About the role
- The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, ELB/ALB, EKS, IAM, and other AWS-native technologies.
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and DevOps best practices to automate application deployments.
- Deploy, manage, and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (Amazon EKS).
- Implement AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, network segmentation, logging, monitoring, and compliance controls.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud environments for performance, availability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with software developers and cross-functional teams to design secure, scalable cloud solutions that meet application and business requirements.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation).
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (Amazon EKS).
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
- Strong understanding of AWS networking, security, IAM, encryption, and the AWS Shared Responsibility Model.
- Experience troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Support production releases, incident response, infrastructure maintenance, and other technical initiatives as required.
- Selected candidates will be required to complete fingerprinting at a government facility and undergo a background check as part of the hiring process.
Nice to have
- Experience with the VA or other Government agencies.
- Experience supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) processes or secure government cloud environments.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools for DevOps automation and infrastructure management.
- One or more of the following certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional.
- Ability to obtain government clearance.
Skills
- Hands on experience designing and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure in production environments.
