About the role
- As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software, and consumables is key.
- One week out of the month you will not be in Sacramento area.
Responsibilities
- Services & Support
- Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites.
- Performs maintenance and repair services.
- Delivers (does not design) fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems and applications software.
- Serves as an internal resource on technical issues and manages product escalations Collaborates with Agilent teams such as Support, Sales, Marketing and R&D to provide solutions to customers.
- May deliver internal technical training and maintenance seminars and workshops for field engineers or customers.
- May qualify leads.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience working with analytical instrumentation, ideally including repair, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting
- Ability to solve high-impact problems related to product availability
- Experience or expertise with Pathology handling equipment specifically IHC instrumentation
- Familiarity with functioning within the service standards of ISO 13485
- Ability to travel 80% of the time
- A valid driver's license is required for this position

- typically, system/ solution-focused
- Experience in Medical Diagnostics would be ideal
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer relationship-building skills are essential

- This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least July 6, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted. Nice to have
- Bachelor's, Master's or other university-level degrees within the science field -- e.g. biochemistry, biotechnology or similar-- are highly preferred

Compensation
- The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $46.13 - $80.84/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits.

- Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance.
- Proactively responds to potential equipment or software issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
- May train other field engineers or customers.
