About the role

Responsibilities
- Editorial Quality Control: Maintain absolute accuracy by auditing scripts against edited video and immediately alerting producers and writers to any discrepancies.
- Digital & Social Collaboration: Identify, clip, and optimize compelling video elements tailored specifically for digital and social media publication.
- Workflow Support: Assist the Editing Coordinator with feed intake, archival video restoration, and "rundown checks" to ensure every asset is online before hit-time.
- Leadership & Tech Agility: Step in as the Editing Coordinator when needed, operate ENG Receive equipment, and manage video/audio switching gear to support live streaming initiatives.

- Working as a per diem crew member, you will collaborate closely with Newscast Producers and the Digital Team to transform raw footage into compelling, clean, and high-impact news sequences under intense deadline pressure.
- Maintain absolute accuracy by auditing scripts against edited video and immediately alerting producers and writers to any discrepancies.
Requirements
- Familiarity with social media video formats, clipping workflows, and modern digital platforms.
- Ability to quickly master the station's newsroom computer system (iNews) and clipping software post-hire.
Nice to have
- Two (2) years of experience as a news video editor at a commercial television station is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.

- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with producers, writers, and technical staff during breaking news.

- Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $20.00 per hour.
