Responsibilities

  • Support Underwriting Desk objectives and contribute to firm profitability by providing insight on scales, the municipal market, trades, and inventories.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned, including backing up department roles or training new personnel when needed.

Requirements

  • Proactive, analytical approach with the ability to process information quickly and accurately and make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
  • FINRA Series 52 license required within 90 days of employment
  • SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 required within 6 months.
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred; experience in trade support or fixed income is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and project management skills, with a strong ability to collaborate.

  • Research industry and financial market trends, run data queries, and analyze information requested by internal and external partners.
  • Process trades accurately across trading systems
  • research, analyze, and resolve related issues using appropriate tools and resources.
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure deals are posted correctly, provide month-end information, and deliver profit/loss reports to support accurate trade posting.
  • Support the marketing of the firm's municipal bond underwritings.
  • Coordinate with Public Finance Bankers and Sales Representatives to support information flow for marketing and pricing new issues.

Nice to have

  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new systems or programs as needed
  • strong Excel skills are a plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred
