About the role
- As a Per Diem Surgical Technologist, you'll work alongside surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers to help ensure safe, efficient surgical procedures across a variety of specialties.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, and monitor a sterile surgical environment before, during, and after procedures.
- Safely operate, inspect, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and departmental policies.
- Maintain the highest standards of sterile and aseptic technique to promote patient safety and prevent infection.
Requirements
- Individuals entering the Surgical Technology profession on or after July 1, 2013, must have an Associate degree in Surgical Technology.
- Surgical Technologist certification is required for new hires who did not have surgical facility experience prior to July 1, 2013.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, anatomy, and operative procedures.
- Previous Surgical Technologist experience is welcomed but not required.
- Expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, surgical procedures, instrumentation, and advancing surgical technologies.
- Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and physicians throughout procedures.
- Ability to remain organized, adaptable, and composed in a fast-paced operating room environment.
- Complete required documentation accurately and within the Surgical Technologist scope of practice.
- Required
- Individuals entering the Surgical Technology profession on or after July 1, 2013, must have an Associate degree in Surgical Technology. Individuals who worked as a Surgical Technologist in a surgical facility prior to July 1, 2013, may qualify under applicable grandfathering provisions.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program recognized by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAAHEP) or completion of an approved structured training program with an equivalent professional credential.
