About the role
- You will focus on the full lifecycle of critical backend services, from architecture to implementation and large-scale operation.
- We believe the best innovation happens when we mix deep focus work with in-person connection.
- While you'll work from home most of the week, we require this person to be in our Vancouver office every Thursday.
Nice to have
- Architect core platform infrastructure using AWS managed services and industry standard tools such as Kafka, Redis, and Docker/K8s.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven track record of high technical ownership throughout the full service life cycle.
- Strong programming proficiency, particularly in Python.
- Some experience with LAMP (php), Node.js, or Java is a plus.
- Hands-on expertise operating distributed applications within AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.
- Passion for art, creativity, and the DeviantArt community.
- Familiarity with search technologies such as Vespa or Elasticsearch is a plus.
