About the role

  • In this role, you will work in a flexible manufacturing environment within a unionized setting, represented by an independent union.
  • Your primary responsibility will involve working within a supervisory team to oversee and coordinate the production activities of machine operators, assemblers, and fabricators.
  • You will ensure that all materials and work performed adhere to our organization's standards and comply with safety regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the lead hands and/or directly with hourly personnel in order to meet production schedule and customer requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Strong people management abilities, including the capacity to motivate and lead teams

Requirements

  • 10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record in custom manufacturing environments, with a strong understanding of varied/ tailored production processes
  • Ability to work within a supervisory team, taking direction and delegating, setting expectations, and monitoring the progress of production staff
  • Proven understanding and execution of Lean Manufacturing an asset
  • Possess knowledge and experience in labour relations
  • Proficiency with computers and related programs & software such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with MRP software
  • Lifting over 20 lbs. as required
  • Strive to maintain a positive, healthy working environment by addressing issues appropriately as they arise and de-escalating situations when required.
  • Notify key parties of any incidents, where necessary, and complete appropriate paperwork, as required, in a timely manner.

Nice to have

  • 2+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience preferred or demonstrated experience in supervising and motivating teams to achieve and succeed in their goals
