About the role
- In this role, you will work in a flexible manufacturing environment within a unionized setting, represented by an independent union.
- Your primary responsibility will involve working within a supervisory team to oversee and coordinate the production activities of machine operators, assemblers, and fabricators.
- You will ensure that all materials and work performed adhere to our organization's standards and comply with safety regulations and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Work with the lead hands and/or directly with hourly personnel in order to meet production schedule and customer requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong people management abilities, including the capacity to motivate and lead teams
Requirements
- 10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record in custom manufacturing environments, with a strong understanding of varied/ tailored production processes
- Ability to work within a supervisory team, taking direction and delegating, setting expectations, and monitoring the progress of production staff
- Proven understanding and execution of Lean Manufacturing an asset
- Possess knowledge and experience in labour relations
- Proficiency with computers and related programs & software such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with MRP software
- Lifting over 20 lbs. as required
- Strive to maintain a positive, healthy working environment by addressing issues appropriately as they arise and de-escalating situations when required.
- Notify key parties of any incidents, where necessary, and complete appropriate paperwork, as required, in a timely manner.
Nice to have
- 2+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience preferred or demonstrated experience in supervising and motivating teams to achieve and succeed in their goals
