- Responsible for performing receptionist, clerical and transcription duties related to the manual and mechanical process of order entry on an assigned nursing unit.
Responsibilities
- Maintains clean treatment rooms, patient rooms and equipment to retain infection control. Keeps appropriate records such as, ordering, sorting, storing supplies and restocking, ensuring proper segregation and safe disposal of hazardous waste.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times according to hospital policy and procedures and HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to understand principles and implement basic procedures of infection control.
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job.
- Ability to set priorities, coordinates and organizes multiple tasks, and maintain control of workflow.
Requirements
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
- Subject to call back and overtime as required.
- Must have good balance and coordination.

- Registers patients on admission, reviews paperwork with parent/guardian to obtain signatures, and scans medical records into EMR.
- Assembles patients' charts, records patient information on unit recorders, routes charges and enters orders in the electronic medical record.
- Education/Formal Training Requirements
- Required - No Education Required
- Required - experience in a healthcare setting 1-3 years
- Knowledgeable of keyboard and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of computer data entry/retrieval skills (MS Office Suite); prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
