About the role
- This role ensures that ministry teams (e.g., hospitality, children, worship, facilities) are adequately staffed, and that volunteers are supported, recognized, and aligned with the church's vision.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new volunteers, including promoting opportunities during services, church communications, and events.
- Support ministry leaders and deacons as needed with their work of assigning and scheduling volunteers for Sunday services and special events, ensuring all roles are covered.
- Create and manage volunteer recognition programs and appreciation events to demonstrate the church's love and gratitude for their service.
- Maintain the Volunteer Handbook and other general training materials related to serving ministry.
- Act as the primary liaison between staff and volunteers, assessing needs across departments and providing ongoing support to volunteers.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer contact information, background checks, and hours of service.
- Leadership: Experience in team building, volunteer leadership, or ministry coordination
- Organization: Detail-oriented with strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Experience or competence to develop basic aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite, Planning Center, Google Drive, and other platforms
- This position requires a strong presence on Sundays before and after services to recruit and support volunteers.
