About the role

  • The role provides significant cross-functional exposure, partnering with business leaders to align financial reporting with strategic objectives while delivering complex financial analysis and insights to management.
  • It also includes responsibility for establishing and maintaining strong internal controls, supporting audits, and driving continuous process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recognition of expenses through oversight of the vendor accrual process

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, cash receipts, and general ledger activity
  • Lead the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules (including lead schedules and roll-forwards)
  • Execute and manage the monthly and quarterly close process, coordinating timelines and deliverables across the team
  • Perform detailed variance and flux analysis to identify trends, explain results, and investigate discrepancies
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and documentation, including within a new ERP system
  • Maintain accurate fiscal records and documentation to support all financial transactions
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members, delivering ongoing performance feedback and supporting professional growth
  • Prepare and review financial reporting schedules, including support for external reporting and audit requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 6+ years of experience in accounting, public accounting or corporate accounting
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience managing or reviewing accounting close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize, multitask and think critically in a fast-paced environment
