Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components, assemblies, and integrated systems for sophisticated electromechanical products.
- Develop innovative solutions that improve performance, manufacturability, reliability, and product quality.
- Perform structural analysis using FEA and evaluate mechanical performance through vibration and modal analysis.
- Partner closely with electrical, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Contribute throughout the entire product lifecycle, from early design and prototyping through validation, manufacturing launch, and ongoing product enhancements.
- Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation using SolidWorks and PDM or PLM tools.
- Participate in design reviews and engineering validation activities to ensure designs meet technical, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
- Analyze engineering issues, identify underlying causes, and develop effective long-term solutions to improve product performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners and suppliers to support component development, qualification, and production readiness.
- Recommend design improvements that reduce cost, improve manufacturability, and enhance long term product performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Five to eight years of experience designing mechanical systems or components for complex engineered products.
- Hands-on experience with structural simulation, vibration characterization, and dynamic performance evaluation of mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of common engineering materials and joining methods, including metals, polymers, fastening systems, bonding solutions, and protective finishes.
- Familiarity with thermal management principles within electromechanical systems.
- Experience designing injection molded plastic components for production environments.
- Experience working with aerospace, defense, robotics, autonomous systems, or advanced electromechanical products.
