About the role
- This position offers the opportunity to solve complex industrial automation challenges while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to high-impact projects across a variety of industries.
- This is a hybrid role based out of our Atlanta office in Peachtree City, GA.
- The position is salaried and includes eligibility for overtime pay.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control packages based on project requirements and process documentation (P&IDs).
- Develop PLC I/O schematics, panel layouts, and bills of material.
- Design motor control circuits, MCC interfaces, and VFD systems.
- Develop three-line diagrams, cable schedules, and conduit layouts.
- Apply NEC, NFPA, and UL standards to project designs.
- Prepare project scopes of work, design concepts, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Support installation activities, contractor bid walks, startup activities, and I/O verification.
- Lead portions of projects and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Experience developing electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of material.
- Knowledge of NEC and industrial electrical design standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEE/BSEET) from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 5+ years of experience designing industrial control panels, MCCs, VFD systems, or automation-related electrical systems.
- Ability to travel approximately 20-25%, including occasional overnight travel.
- Experience with PLC hardware, industrial control networks, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Experience in food & beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industries.
- Required Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEE/BSEET) from an ABET-accredited institution.
