About the role
- In this dynamic role, you'll help shape strategic recruitment initiatives while creating engaging programs and events that connect prospective students and their families with the rich traditions and culture of Texas A&M University.
- No two days look quite the same, with projects ranging from coordinating seminars and workshops to partnering with peer recruiters and vendors to bring creative recruitment ideas to life.
- The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is flexible, adaptable, and able to pivot as priorities evolve, all while keeping student engagement and service at the center of their work.
Responsibilities
- The position offers a strong blend of operational leadership and creativity, including developing communications, presentations, and resources that support enrollment goals.
- As a key member of the team, you'll supervise student employees and support staff, build relationships with campus and external partners, and help ensure an engaging and welcoming visitor experience throughout the year.
- Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
- Ability to relate with campus and regional staff in the department, other offices, and partners/volunteers.
- Ability to maintain integrity in a security sensitive environment.
- Participate in cross-functional projects that support staff growth and development.
- Designs and supports the implementation of programming and outreach strategies to prospective students.
- Provide support for staff training and development efforts and initiatives.
- Plans, organizes, directs and manages day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures for the administration of the program.
- Assists in developing strategic plans and goals to support the program.
Requirements
- 1 year of supervisor experience.
- Master's degree and knowledge of policies and procedures governing admissions and recruitment.
- Professional experience in a role related to student advising, recruitment, counseling or student affairs.
- Experience managing and generating content for all forms of electronic communication (emails, social media, text campaigns).
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications and customer relationship management tools.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to present a good, professional image.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Must be literate in the English language and able to comprehend, give, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Position Details: Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
- Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six years of related experience (i.e. event management, event planning, higher education).
- A Well-Qualified Candidate Will Also Possess:
- 1 year of experience working with graphic design and/or content creators.
- Student service-oriented approach to and philosophy on admissions and financial aid administration.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Nice to have
- 5 plus years of experience in recruitment.
Compensation
- $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience)
