About the role
- Vertex is currently accepting applications for a full-time Intermediate Environmental Scientist with a focus on reclamation to join our Environmental Team in Calgary or Sherwood Park Alberta.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing upstream oil and gas projects in accordance with Vertex guidelines and project scopes.
- This individual will play a critical role in the execution of all aspects of the project while delivering a cost-effective approach that exceeds our client's expectations.
Responsibilities
- Support development of reclamation cost estimates for projects/programs applying Vertex best management processes and working with managers and sub-contractors
- Develop and execute vegetation management programs in alignment with client objectives and applicable regulations
- Develop technical reports to support program execution and in alignment with your areas of competency
Requirements
- Support Vertex teams on assessment and remediation programs as required and work loads dictate
- Oversee all required ground disturbance and safety requirements to execute earthworks projects for upstream oil and gas sites
- Minimum 4 to 7 years of environmental work experience including the following scopes:
- willingness to travel within Western Canada as required
- Working knowledge of contaminated sites and reclamation regulations in Alberta and experience in northeast British Columbia is an asset
