About the role
- As a Weld Quality Technician at Central Moloney, you're the last line of defense before a transformer tank moves down the line.
- This is a hands-on quality control role in a stable, growing manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual weld inspections on transformer tanks prior to the wash system, checking for weld defects, non-conformances, and dimensional accuracy Identify and correct weld issues including spatter, porosity, undercut, cracking, slag inclusions, and improper weld profiles Inspect welds during and after the welding process, verifying size, profile, reinforcement, and quality conformance Review shop drawings and engineering documents to verify welds meet specifications and dimensional requirements Use weld gauges, calipers, and other measuring tools to confirm weld dimensions and tolerances Document inspection results, non-conformances (NCRs), and corrective actions accurately and in a timely manner Communicate quality findings to welders, supervisors, and production teams and recommend corrective actions Support root cause analysis on recurring weld defects and quality issues Conduct process audits to ensure adherence to CMI quality standards and AWS visual inspection criteria Adhere to all safety protocols including PPE requirements Other quality-related duties as assigned

- No CWI certification required - just a sharp eye, welding knowledge, and a commitment to getting it right.

- Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and address hazards.
