About the role

  • Under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator (HSA) and Director of Nursing (DON), the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the State Board of Nursing.
  • This includes both traditional RN responsibilities and Health Assessment (H.A.R.N.) duties within a correctional healthcare environment, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant patient care delivery.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, providers, custody, and leadership
  • Coordination & Leadership Support
  • Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, assessments, and clinical observations

Requirements

  • Current CPR certification required
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force and frequently push, pull, lift, or move objects, including assisting with patient care needs.

Compensation

  • $50 - $80 per hour

  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Correctional healthcare experience preferred
  • Collaborate with the Health Services Administrator (HSA) and Director of Nursing (DON) to coordinate healthcare delivery within the facility
  • Utilize all functions and applications of the electronic health record (EHR) relevant to the position with minimal supervision and assist with staff training as requested
  • Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies, including performing CPR until properly relieved
