About the role

  • Prepares racks of glass units for loading into autoclave as indicated on production schedules and instructions.
  • Balances and ties down rack load, as necessary.
  • Operates overhead crane and helps manipulate rack loading into autoclave and for unloading after processing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a Specials Boilers License.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner using all approved safety equipment as instructed.
  • Performs duties in accordance with the Business Process Documentation.
  • Maintains records and logs of department activities.
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with all department employees.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly working area at the end of the workday.
  • May perform reasonably similar or related duties as instructed.
  • Operates the Autoclave equipment in processing glass products and operates and maintains boilers on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and understand work instructions (English).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member.
  • Must be able to safely perform essential job functions.

  • Forklift License.
  • Boiler License 2A or 2B
  • Mathematical skills as related to measurements.
  • Familiar with operating power tools.
  • Regular full-time attendance.
  • Promotes Viracon in a positive manner and obeys all policies.
