About the role
- The Security Alarm System Technician III takes a leadership role in overseeing the planning, installation, and maintenance of advanced security and fire alarm systems.
- This position functions with minimal supervision and provides guidance to junior technicians.
- The technician ensures all systems, including access control and CCTV, are efficiently integrated and operational, contributing to lifecycle management strategies for a diverse range of facilities.
Responsibilities
- Leads the planning, installation, and maintenance of complex security and fire alarm systems.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design and implement system upgrades.
- Develops and conducts training programs for lower-level technicians.
- Manages documentation for system modifications and operational procedures.

Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
- Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring, control panels, sensors, cameras, and networked security devices.
- Maintain required certifications and proficiency for all supported systems such as including Hirsch, Honeywell Vindicator, Siemens Cerberus Pro, Avigilon, performance testing, and network (Cisco) certifications.
- The role demands good hand-eye coordination and the ability to distinguish colors for wiring purposes.
- Technicians may be required to spend long periods on their feet while troubleshooting and installing alarm systems.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
