Nice to have

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a New Jersey approved or accredited program for surgical technicians or graduate of an LPN school with current LPN license.
  • Certification from nationally recognized body for surgical technician preferred.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Certification from Nationally recognized body for Surgical Technician preferred and encouraged.

Skills

  • Specialty surgical services may require specific training, experience, knowledge, and skills.
  • Special Training: Certification from Nationally recognized body for Surgical Technician preferred and encouraged.
  • Completion of designated annual competencies.
  • Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Usual Work Day: 8 Hours
  • Prepares the operating room by opening sterile supplies, instruments and sutures based on scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card.
  • Follows policies for scrubbing, gowning, gloving, setting up back table, draping and counting with the circulating nurse.
  • Performs scrub assistance for all procedures.

Compensation

  • Special Training: Certification from Nationally recognized body for Surgical Technician preferred and encouraged. Completion of designated annual competencies.
