Nice to have
- Operating backhoe, track hoe, forklifts and loaders.
- Cleans construction site to eliminate possible hazards.
- Digs ditches and levels earth to grade specifications using pick and shovel.
- Positions, joins, aligns, and seals structural components such as concrete wall sections and pipes.
- Applies caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices.
- Smooth and finishes freshly poured cement or concrete, using float, trowel, screed, or powered cement finishing tool.
- Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
- Assembles and fastens materials using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue, to make framework or props.
Skills
- Experience in handling and working around chemicals
- 6 months related experience preferred but not required
- Must be customer service oriented
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, twist and turn frequently.
- Exposed to an outdoor environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature
- Ability to sit and turn back for long periods of time as well as do other movements required for job actions and procedures.
- Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
- Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders to enter equipment on a regular basis
