About the role

  • Administers nursing care to an assigned group of patients based on physician's orders, nursing care plan and the Oklahoma Board of Nursing Scope of Practice.
  • Consults with registered nurse to plan patient care.
  • Minimum Education: Has completed the prescribed curricula of a practical nursing program or has completed equivalent coursework as approved and verified by a state board of nursing and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or certificate therefrom.

Responsibilities

  • Performs nursing skills appropriate for the patient population.
  • Gathers data, implements and evaluates care for an assigned group of patients based on physician's orders and Nursing Care Plan.
  • Documents data on the appropriate record.
  • Documents nursing process/care clearly, consistently, and accurately.
  • Facilitates patient teaching -- implements discharge planning.
  • Working Relationships: Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise).
