Responsibilities
- Maintains specific customer commitments and deadlines in the Zayo (Salesforce or future system used) database. Provides project status updates on the order when necessary for the project management groups.
- Provides support to field operations to resolve provisioning problems
- Performs other related duties or projects as assigned by management.
- Implement plans for cross-training team members to learn additional duties.
- Design planning, record creation and capacity fulfillment and implementation of DWDM network throughout the U.S and Canada.
- Provides support to field operations to resolve provisioning problems; reviews and verifies technical data in an effort to project issues.
- Works with Project Managers and Design and Implementation Engineers when issues arise during capacity projects.
- Designs DWDM network per Network Architectures standards and future growth of our network and customer base. Implements circuit designs for the core of the network as needed.
- Reviews capacity request for correctness and clarifies any design related items back to the responsible departments.
- Supports partner teams and/or ONCC during customer or network escalations as requested.
Requirements
- Ability to meet inflexible deadlines
- Experience using Microsoft Office or Google programs and project management software.
- Familiarity with majority of the below products:
- Manages workload to identify critical issues and prioritize those items that must be completed daily.
- Works around obstacles and roadblocks within the order flow to obtain the priority required by Zayo to meet required due dates.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education, training and/or experience.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of telecommunications and/or data networking experience.
- Minimum of two (2) year of Telecommunications Project Management or Lead Engineer experience.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of optical systems and signal flow designs through fixed or flex grid networks using ROADM technology.
- Experience using Microsoft Office or Google programs and project management software. Able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions in controlled situations. Deal with some abstract but mostly concrete variables.
- Optical Systems: Fuji, Adva, Ciena 6500 & RLS, Cisco, Infinera DTNx & Flex ILS, Nokia 1830
- Understanding of DWDM single flow and spectrum allocation for Fixed and Flex grid networks
Compensation
- $84,900 - $130,600 USD/annually.
- The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role.
- It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions.
- Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
- Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan.
- Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
- In addition, the Manager, Design Engineering - Optical will be responsible for the team meeting and exceeding key performance targets monthly, quarterly and annually.
