About the role

  • Uphold state statutes, city ordinances, and University policies.
  • Provide education and protection to the staff and students at KUMC.
  • Certified or ability to be certified as a law enforcement officer by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.

Requirements

  • Must be able to fulfill requirements of an approved Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.
  • Must be eligible to attend a basic law enforcement training program acceptable to KLETC or already be certified as a law enforcement officer.
  • U.S. citizen; 21 years of age; valid driver's license; drug screen for new hires (certified positions); and annual fire arms qualification (certified positions).

  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of law enforcement.

Compensation

  • The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking.
  • A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding.
  • At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
