About the role

  • Job Description: The Anesthesia Technician is a vital member of the Anesthesia Care Team, committed to ensuring safe and effective anesthetic experiences.
  • This role encompasses a variety of technical responsibilities, including cleaning and calibrating anesthesia machines, stocking supplies, and monitoring equipment quality.
  • This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. - Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.

Requirements

  • May be required to be on call and/or float to other departments based on operational needs, within the scope of competency and qualifications.
  • Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)

Nice to have

  • Associate's degree in Science or equivalent
  • Previous Operating Room (OR) experience
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
  • Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
  • Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items (instrument sets of 25 pounds or less).

  • Minimum Qualifications (Level I)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • Minimum Qualifications (Level II)
  • Demonstrated competency and experience as an Anesthesia Tech I (Basic) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work under moderate supervision
  • Effective organizational and communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of anesthesia equipment and sterile technique
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to anticipating and fulfilling anesthesia needs and requests
