About the role

  • The candidate will provide expert guidance and opinions and will ensure compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • The Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing expert counsel and support on portfolio acquisitions and related legal issues including performing due diligence and drafting agreements.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with business partners within Lumine Group and external counsel.

Requirements

  • Must be an active member of the Law Society of Ontario
  • 2-5 year call to the bar.
  • Experience in a telecommunication and/or software environment considered an asset.
  • Superior time management skills, multi-tasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels internally as well as with externally in various jurisdictions.
  • Assessing the risks associated with transactions are further required to maximize the Company's financial and operational performance.
  • Ability to customize existing templates, draft new agreements to fit project requirements, and effectively negotiate terms with sellers.
  • Other duties shall be assigned as required.
