About the role
- Job Objective: Reporting directly to the General Counsel this position will be a key member of Harvest's legal team.
- This position will be responsible for domestic midstream and other energy infrastructure transactions as well as other areas of legal, e.g., litigation management, general contracts, labor/employment law, etc.
Responsibilities
- Develops and recommends company policy and position on legal issues.
- Writes, reviews, and edits reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents regarding legal issues and the company.
- Provides due diligence and prepares and negotiates legal documents in connection with company's acquisitions.
- Evaluates findings and develops strategy and arguments in connection with legal issues affecting the company's business.
Requirements
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic record.
- Law firm or in-house experience required.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws with a special emphasis in the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
- Ability to solve problems accurately.
- Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
- Required: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Minimum of four (4) years experience, including some domestic oil and gas transactional experience.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
