About the role
- Vehicle architectures are shifting toward centralized compute, higher sensor counts, and electrification, while transportation systems demand deterministic, safe, and long-lifecycle platforms.
- FPGAs are uniquely positioned to bridge sensors, provide deterministic real-time processing, and adapt across long program lifetimes - but winning requires strong technical business leadership at the system level.
- Identify and prioritize target segments including:
Responsibilities
- Long lifecycle support (10-15+ years)
- Build relationships with car OEMs, Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers, and transportation system integrators
- Secure design-ins across multi-year vehicle programs
- Enable joint solutions and reference designs to accelerate customer adoption
- Develop high-impact sales collateral including solution briefs, reference architectures (zonal controller, sensor fusion, traction inverter), competitive positioning vs FPGA / SoC / ASSP / GPU / MCU alternatives, and ROI / TCO analyses
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in:
- Strong understanding of:
- Automotive or transportation electronics, or embedded systems
- Semiconductor, Tier-1, or OEM environments
- Automotive E/E architectures and the design / qualification cycle
- Sensor technologies and fusion (camera, radar, LiDAR)
Nice to have
- Experience with FPGA-based systems or FPGA solution selling
- Understanding of high-speed I/O and memory subsystems, PCIe architectures, motor / inverter control, and Edge AI deployment constraints (latency, power, thermal)
- Awareness of automotive cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434)
- Familiarity with functional safety and qualification: ISO 26262 (ASIL), AEC-Q100, IEC 61508
- Prior experience with:
- Car OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers
- Powertrain or ADAS system developers
- Rail or commercial-vehicle integrators
