About the role

  • Trexquant is a growing systematic fund manager with a core team of highly accomplished technologists.
  • The agreements concern data licensing, technology procurement, and related commercial matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate data licensing agreements across market and alternative data, with particular attention to commercial terms, usage rights, derived data, user obligations, audit, and exit options.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technology procurement contracting: SaaS, cloud and data center agreements, software licenses, and professional services.
  • Help build and maintain templates, playbooks, intake processes, and contract tracking; bring discipline and institutional memory to a high-volume docket.
  • Manage the NDA program and the intellectual property terms within commercial agreements, including but not limited to derived data, open source, and AI use compliance Work alongside our senior counsel on ad hoc corporate matters as capacity allows.

Skills

  • SaaS, cloud and data center agreements, software licenses, and professional services.
  • Potential exposure to the full range of legal work at an algorithmic trading firm.
  • JD; admitted to practice in NY (or eligible for in-house registration).
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience at a law firm, in-house at a financial services or technology company, or a combination.

Compensation

  • Competitive salary plus bonus based on individual and company performance.
  • The base salary range is $160,000 to $190,000 depending on the candidate's educational and professional background.
  • Base salary is one component of Trexquant's total compensation, which may also include a discretionary, performance-based bonus.
