About the role
- Provides high quality care to the following patient populations: Adult, Medical/Surgical, Geriatric, and Telemetry.
Responsibilities
- Perform various clerical and administrative functions, such as ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies.
- Perform quality checks on equipment.
- Adhere to safety practices for own personal protection, i.e. gloves for blood product pickup.
- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at same time.
Requirements
- MCU - Will not take telemetry patients, CNA course completion is required for MCU.
- May be required to go into airborne isolation (wear N95 or air mate).
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Ability to complete work functions with minimal errors and/or re-work.
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- Completion of C.N.A course if currently in high school. Required
- Medical Terminology course or within one year of hire Preferred
- 1-3 years previous experience in the medical field Preferred
- Prefer computer classes/experience
- Prefer previous experience in the medical field
- Prefer Medical Terminology course
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Actively looking for ways to help people.
