We do this by engaging each of our scholars in a restorative, relevant school experience that prioritizes personalized academic support, well-being, and preparation for the post-Maya pathway of their choice.
Position Overview The Math Teacher will support instructional services provided to scholars within a secure facility.
In one class period, the Math Teacher will support scholars taking multiple courses, including accelerated offerings across the following content areas: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II & Trigonometry, Probability & Statistics.
Use restorative practices to support the academic and behavioral growth of scholars.

Adapt lessons to accommodate varied learning styles, abilities, and academic levels of scholars.
Classroom Management Maintain a positive, structured learning environment for all scholars.
Collaboration, Support, and Guidance Work closely with colleagues, leadership, and facility staff to ensure delivery of a well-rounded educational program.
Compliance and Reporting Ensure high-quality instructional materials comply with organization, facility, district, and federal education regulations.
Other Duties as Assigned Tasks that may not directly align with your job description but are vital and serve to maintain a safe and effective teaching and learning environment for scholars and staff.
