About the role
- Civil/Structural Engineer Spark Power is looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team.
- What will you do as a Civil/Structural Engineer?
- Participating in equipment/material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
Responsibilities
- Familiarity with CSA, NBC, and provincial building codes and industry standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis.

- Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing and stamping Structural engineering packages for construction projects in the utilities, large commercial and industrial sectors.
- This is a very hands-on role, working directly with clients, our sales team and managers to answer technical questions and create proposed solutions.
- E-House design and installation, including foundations and structural framing.
- Experience supporting RFPs and bid submissions, including preparing engineering hours estimates and material take-offs to support project costing and proposals.
- Prepare and review fabrication and shop drawings, including E-House fabrication drawings Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop/deliver cost effective and constructible designs.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and designers Review and approval of team members professional work product and authentication.
Requirements
- Here's what we're looking for 5-10 years of experience with a focus on civil and structural engineering.
- Must have hands on experience on Canadian design codes to complete designs of steel and/or concrete structures.
- Must have a working knowledge and ability to use programs such as structural design software S-Frame & drafting software AutoCAD and review software like Navisworks.
- Must have industrial Canadian experience.
