Responsibilities

  • Drive initiatives to deliver value to our users ensuring the software your team delivers is high quality, highly available, monitored, and maintainable.
  • Help the team navigate trade-offs and drive alignment in a fast-paced field
  • Communicate your team's goals, the scope and risks of your projects, and own the delivery of initiatives on clear timelines.
  • Identify, build and iterate on engineering processes that support a high performing team.
  • Create an inclusive environment which engages and challenges your team members.
  • Software engineering background that empowers you to drive technical decisions within the team and engage with engineers at all levels of seniority to triage, prioritize and implement.
  • Help the team navigate trade-offs and drive alignment in a fast-paced field; balancing quick delivery with thoughtful, long-term approaches across a portfolio of user experiences in the browser.
  • Previous experience working on frontend platform initiatives e.g. design systems and frontend architectural improvements.
  • Strong communication and ability to develop positive relationships with others, regardless of their rank or role.
  • Passion to resolve problems, manage risk, lead change, and facilitate collaborative decision-making.

Requirements

  • 4+ years leading engineers in a software development environment and working across multiple distributed teams.
  • Experience leading multiple concurrent projects.
  • Track record of delivering front-end experiences to user-facing products
  • Hands-on experience with web technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS).
  • Proven track record successfully leading and shipping sophisticated user facing experiences on time, using data to inform timelines..
  • Experience effectively communicating with senior leadership and advocating for engineering priorities.

Nice to have

  • Fostering the use of AI in Frontend engineering teams.
  • Experience working in open source environments.

Compensation

  • Canada Tier 1 Locations
  • $165,000 - $220,000 CAD
  • Canada Tier 2 Locations
  • $149,000 - $199,000 USD
  • Annual professional development budget
