Company info
- Meet minimum production standards for department
- Properly identify, orient, ink, and trim submitted tissues per SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and related protocols while ensuring the u t most quality
- Produce accurate and legible grossing notes with code description that provide the Pathologist with a clear understanding of the sections taken
- Communicate with and respond to Pathologists, transcription, and Lab Coordinator email communications
- Identify problems and special handling cases
- Trim tissue for specific re-gross requests when requested in a timely manner
- A ssist with daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of various machines and equipment
- Exercises judgment in evaluating and reporting results
- Re port any technical/QC problems to their lead tech or supervisor
- Crosstr ain and de velop knowledge of multiple specialties within department/lab.
- Follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures. Maintains clean and organized work area. Restocks supplies as needed
- Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation
- Consult with senior peers on non-complex tasks to learn through experience
- Performs other duties as assigned
