About the role
- Civil team serving western Montana from Missoula and Kalispell
- Transportation, bridge inspection, surveying, and water-resources experience
- Hydraulics, stormwater, and municipal engineering for county and city clients
Responsibilities
- Assist with engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading design.
- Prepare water and sewer system designs for smaller private and larger municipal systems.
- Prepare grading and stormwater designs for commercial, industrial, and residential site plans.
- Perform surface modeling, watershed modeling, storm sewer design, and sanitary sewer design.
- Support consulting project execution, including project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
- Analyze low to moderate complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
- Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance in all aspects of engineering work, apply state and local design criteria to specific project needs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
- Interact with clients to gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and build professional relationships.
- Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
- 1 year of experience minimum in the building design consulting industry required
- Required Skills/Abilities
- Developing proficiency of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Proficient skills or knowledge with AutoCAD Civil 3D software and the ability to complete AutoCAD training sessions as quickly as possible
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
Nice to have
- Engineer in Training (EIT) license preferred
