About the role

  • The Emergency Department Technician will work directly with and provide close observation of patients assigned to their care.
  • Care assignment is delegated through registered nurses and/or providers.
  • Must possess knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, and trends in mental health crisis intervention and have considerable knowledge in human behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains HIPAA rules, regulations and follows "Patients' Rights Policy" at all times.
  • Appropriately directs phone calls to RN's, relays messages, maintains confidentiality in department at all times.
  • Utilize Crisis Prevention Intervention when exposed to volatile patients to maintain personal safety while ensuring safety for the patient and other individuals on the unit.
  • Monitor and document nutritional intake.

Requirements

  • BLS required upon hire
  • EMT Certification required upon hire

Nice to have

  • Associate of Arts Degree
  • Current C.N.A. preferred
  • EMT IV/IO endorsement preferred

  • Typing skills

  • Computer Charting
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment

Compensation

  • $13k-$17k
